Haven’t Mulched Yet? Plenty Of Time!
Mulch is usually applied after the soil has warmed and begun to dry from winter rains and snow. Depending on soil texture, temperature, and other weather conditions, this is usually mid to late spring (May 6 – June 21). In seasons of more than ample rainfall and/or cool temperatures, mulching can be delayed until late May or June.
As an added bonus, mulching later in the spring means you’ll have that freshly mulched look for all your summer gatherings.
